Wood Charcoal

Wood charcoal is our best-selling product. In terms of quality, charcoal made of hardwood is always a great choice, as it offers much better quality than other options. Using hardwood charcoal gives you unique advantages: the food has better flavors, there’s less ash produced and it is ignited really fast.

Made from invasive trees such as Prosopis juliflora trees, it’s the perfect solution for grilling or BBQ. Due to its high-end qualities, we export our Wood charcoal to several countries, for both barbecue and industrial applications. And especially because food tastes better with it.

Physical Characteristics:

  • Appearance: It’s black, brittle, and has a porous texture.
  • Density: It’s lightweight, even though it’s denser than water. This is due to the air trapped in its pores, which allows it to float. If the air is expelled by heating, it will sink.
  • Porosity: This is a defining feature. The numerous pores give it a large surface area, which contributes to its absorbent properties.
  • Absorbency: Charcoal is a good adsorbent, meaning it can attract and hold substances to its surface. This is why it’s used in filters.
  • Conductivity: It’s a good conductor of electricity, especially when heated to high temperatures.

Chemical Characteristics:

  • Composition: Primarily carbon, with small amounts of hydrogen, oxygen, and ash.
  • Combustibility: It’s highly combustible, burning with a clean flame and producing minimal smoke.
  • Reactivity: It readily reacts with carbon dioxide.
  • Inertness: It’s not easily absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and is not metabolized by the body.
  • Reducing Agent: It acts as a reducing agent in chemical reactions, meaning it can remove oxygen from other substances.
